Back the NHS
The Coalition Government has committed to real increases in NHS funding. We are also working to reform the NHS to make it even better, to put patients at the centre of care, to reduce inefficiency, to involve clinicians in the commissioning of services and to improve services across all aspects of the health service.
Locally, I have been involved regularly with staff at the West Middlesex Hospital, including meeting the Chief Executive, Dame Jacqueline Doherty, attending the Nursing Awards and seeing the excellent Maternity Unit and the Maternity Unit Bereavement Services. I have also met with Hounslow Primary Care Trust and organised a meeting in June 2011 with the Health Minister and local GPs to discuss how the future reforms would affect them.
